The Leaf Eater offers a robust, easy-clean screen-filter for water entering your rainwater catchment system. Includes 0.955mm stainless steel mosquito proof screen, and is highly recommended if you get any leaf or debris accumulation in your gutters. It will also prevent gravel chips from asphalt shingles from entering your barrels. Leaf eaters are recommended by most rainwater harvesting professionals over a "first flush" diversion. A first flush will lead to increased sediment loads if not maintained properly, and it may divert too much water away from your barrels in light rains. The Leaf Eater, by contrast, intercepts debris without inhibiting the flow of water to your barrels - and it is much easier to keep clean. This product works with 2" x 3" or 3" x 4" rectangular downspouts. It also works with round downspouts 3" or 4" in diameter, and can be adapted to other sizes with standard bushings. The leaf eater requires that you cut your downspout, so if you have a downspouts of a different dimension, you can replace the lower segment with 2" x 3" material for compatibility with the Leaf Eater AND BlueBarrel's standard downspout diverter, or with any size that fits one of our downspout diverter options.

If you have more than 2.5' between your downspout and barrels, you will need a longer inlet hose. Please note this product replaces the original diverter hose rather than extending it, so you will need to measure the full distance between your downspout and barrels. THIS PRODUCT IS SOLD BY THE FOOT, and shipped as one continuous length. Enter the total number of feet you need for the purchase quantity. (The material is easy to cut if you need multiple segments.)

This diverter kit handles inflow and overflow automatically. Kit includes a rubberized diverter head that seals inside 2" x 3" downspouts. Kit also includes a 31" flexible inlet hose, watertight hose seal, inlet screening, stainless steel screws, and illustrated installation instructions. The RainRouter Selector Valve Kit is compatible with the FlexiFit downspout diverter, which is included in all of our DIY RainKits™ (or sold separately above). The selector valve inserts into the diverter head to send rain in two directions. Connect to two rain barrels, two garden hoses, or one of each! A simple turn-dial allows you to send water in one direction or the other, or both at once. The "off" setting keeps water flowing down your downspout as normal. Assembly includes selector valve and 2 multi-hose adapters. NOTE: The selector valve pairs with a FlexiFit Downspout Diverter head. These are included in our DIY RainKits™. If you don't have one, select a round or rectangular diverter from our accessories menu.

This piece is recommended in areas with hard freezes where rain barrels are disconnected during the winter. (No need to disconnect for light freezes!). Insert the Winter Cover into the diverter hole to seal off the downspout for the winter. In the spring, simply remove the Winter Cover and re-insert the downspout diverter. Select this item if you have rectangular downspouts. RECOMMENDED: Order the 1-1/2" Expandable Twist Plug (below) to seal the hole in your barrel while barrels are disconnected in winter.

The Tank Gauge by Rain Harvesting monitors the level in your BlueBarrel System™ with an easy-to-read dial. It is quick and easy to install, and uses a non-numbered "Empty-to-Full" scale so it will work with tanks of any size (up to 100" in height). With the BlueBarrel System's unique under-plumbed design, your water level will be the same in all barrels, so you only need one Tank Gauge for a multi-barrel system. Installation instructions specify a 1-1/4-in Hole Saw (available here in our online store under "TOOLS"). A 1-1/2-in Hole Saw will also work.

Most BlueBarrel Systems consist of one long row of barrels. The Multi-Row Connection allows you to install double-rows. Order one Multi-Row Connection for each block of barrels that you will be doubling up (usually one per system). Order two Multi-Row Connections to install a triple-row. This item includes all necessary connection fittings, an extra isolation valve, and a a multi-row plumbing configuration diagram.

This streamlined 100-micron drip irrigation filter has a slim profile and a fine mesh to keep drip emitters from clogging. It connects easily to the drain valve included in your RainKit™. All drip irrigation options in our accessories menu are fit-ready for this filter. If you want more than one drip irrigation or soaker hose connection on a BlueBarrel System™, you will need to order an Extra Drain Assembly for each additional drip filter.
